Meghalaya Gets first woman police chief

Meghalaya has achieved a significant milestone by appointing Idashisha Nongrang as the state’s first woman Director General of Police (DGP).
Nongrang, a distinguished officer from the 1992 batch of the Indian Police Service (IPS), will take over from Lajja Ram Bishnoi, who will retire on May 19, 2024.
