Boosting Electric Public Transportation with PM-eBus Sewa Scheme

The Union Cabinet has approved the innovative "PM-eBus Sewa" scheme, a major step towards enhancing urban transportation and promoting electric mobility. The scheme aims to expand city bus operations by deploying 10,000 electric buses through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The scheme, with a total cost projection of Rs 57,613 crore, is expected to receive Rs 20,000 crore financial support from the Central government. Over a 10-year period, the initiative will focus on cities with populations above three lakh according to the 2011 census, including Union Territory capitals, the North Eastern Region, and Hill States. It's anticipated to create 45,000 to 55,000 direct job opportunities.

 

Rail Projects Worth ₹32,500 Crore Approved for Connectivity Enhancement

The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has granted approval for seven significant railway projects, amounting to an investment of ₹32,500 crore. These projects will extend the rail network by 2,339 kilometers, facilitating smoother transportation across 35 districts in states such as Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Odisha, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. These projects, utilizing the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model, are set to revolutionize regional connectivity and accessibility.
